Pilot Proficient’s Flight Review Course satisfies the requirement of 14 CFR 61.56 for Ground Instruction toward your review (formerly known as the Biennial flight review “BFR”).  We’ll cover several areas with video and multimedia presentations in order to help you remain a competent, safe and proficient pilot.

Covered in the Course:

NOTE: Acceptance of this course as the ground portion of your review should be verified with your CFI in advance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I fail a Flight Review?

No.  While the review is, in fact, an evaluation, there is no record or logbook entry made for unsatisfactory performance.

Is this different than a Biennial Flight Review (BFR)

This course replaces what what was formerly know as the BFR.  The content covers the same areas as you will be familiar with.

Who needs a flight review?

With limited exceptions, every pilot must accomplish the requirements of the Flight Review, as shown in FAR 61.56, at least every 24 calendar months in order to act as Pilot in Command. Many General Aviation pilots accomplish this review by receiving ground and flight instruction with a competent CFI, and gain valuable knowledge and recurrent training every 24 months.

Good Refresher

The FAR AIM knowledge is in there somewhere, but taking the time to refresh was very helpful. Same with ADM. Even with consistent practice, thinking through the system(s) you use outside of the aircraft doesn't always happen. Good to be prompted to intentionally think through the things we were all taught.

Getting back to the basics is essential

It was amazing to me, after thousands of hours of flying experience in various types of aircraft (corporate jets, helicopters, multi and single engine aircraft, gliders and seaplanes) just how much we pilots need to refresh our memory of the basics. I have had many BFR's through many years of flying, and the instructors all did an excellent job, however your course was very outstanding! Thank you!
